Gwendolyn Turner is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of The Capacity Center. The Capacity Center is an advisory firm focused on providing training and strategic advisory services to businesses globally. The Capacity Center works to help business owners win and maintain contracts with corporate and government entities by providing workshops, seminars and content regarding business development.
Gwendolyn lead the award winning Supplier Diversity program at Pfizer, Incorporated. Pfizer’s program was transformed under her leadership to a program that is focused on developing suppliers and creating large procurement opportunities. Over her career she has been responsible for international teams focused on creating small business development programs in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa. She created distinguished corporate programs supplier diversity programs by partnering with c-suite executives, developing matrix, and creating a business case for all business units. She also served as Pfizer’s strategist on corporate reputation and external relations with Small Businesses. She was responsible for over $1 billion globally in procurement contracts from Small Business owners. Gwendolyn has held supply chain leadership positions at Pfizer, Kellogg Company and Kraft Foods.
Gwendolyn has served as a speaker at Tuck School of Business, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, Institute for Supply Management, Crain’s New York, Women’s Presidents Educational Organization, The World Bank and The Institute for a Competitive Inner City. She has published articles and has been quoted in several magazines including; Black Enterprise, Minority Business Entrepreneur, Forbes and PINK.
Named one of The Network Journals’ 40 under 40, she is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She is the Immediate Past Chairperson of the Women’s President’s Educational Organization, an organization focuses on the certification and development of Women Owned Businesses in New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Washington DC. Gwendolyn is also the Immediate Past Chairperson of the Howard University Center for Entrepreneurship, a center focused on cultivating the visions of future entrepreneurs. She will be releasing a book late 2014 called “FOCUS on the Fundamentals” a guide for small business owners.
