Bio
Judith Katz is a consultant, Certified SCORE Business Mentor and an Adjunct Professor at SUNY, where she teaches Fasttrac New Venture and Growth Venture. She has held senior planning, strategy and financial roles at American Express, Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company and Barnes & Noble. Most recently she was the president of a two-year career college. She has served as board president for the Hudson Guild, a multi-function community based agency. She is now on the board of Generation Schools Network, an innovative alternative educational approach. In many of her management positions, she has recruited and coached future leaders.
Ms. Katz was also the co-founder of a computer music software business way ahead of its time, targeted at the K-12 education market. The program featured advanced technology and interactive student learning modules via a MIDI keyboard and PC. Nowadays, it would fit quite nicely on an IPad with a piano keyboard on the screen.
As a consultant to small businesses and non-profits, she has created new marketing and pricing programs, researched and wrote a handbook for small and minority businesses and worked with community development programs to formulate goals and implementation plans.
Judy has been a featured speaker at the Conference Board, the Planning Executives Institute, the HarvardClub and the AICPA. She has taught strategic planning for the American Management Association. She has been honored by the Academy of Women Achievers of the YWCA of New York City.
Ms. Katz received a Masters in management degree from the Sloan School at M.I.T and a Masters degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her BA is from Brandeis University, cum laude with Honors in History.
