
Bio
Louis Gagnon, based in Michigan, is a Senior Partner and the Global Innovation and Sales Leader for the Retirement business. He is a member of the North American Retirement Leadership Team and the Global Retirement Leadership Team.
In addition to his development and management responsibilities for our business, he provides retirement consulting and risk management services to a wide range of clients including hospitals, professional service firms, not-for-profit associations, and manufacturing organizations with operations around the world. His consulting expertise includes defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, other post-employment benefits, nonqualified arrangements and executive benefits. His experience covers the full range of employee benefits and consulting including risk management strategies, design, valuation, financial planning, labor negotiations, global issues, and employee wellness.
Louis joined Mercer in 1988, in Montreal. He was a consultant in Canada for many years prior to transferring to Mercer’s U.S. operations in 1996.
Louis earned a Bachelor of Science degree, honors, in actuarial mathematics from Concordia University in Montréal. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuary (FCIA). He has served as a member of the Examination Committee of the Society of Actuaries for international pension issues.
