Bio
Nancy Carin, Executive Director, Business Outreach Center Network and affiliated entities, has 20 years of experience in small business program development, implementation and evaluation. Nancy Carin is well known in New York City as an innovator in microenterprise and small business development programs. She was instrumental in building a new model for community-based economic development and created a multi-cultural, multi-community coalition to support local entrepreneurs in seven diverse New York City neighborhoods and Newark, New Jersey. Ms. Carin piloted the Business Outreach Center (BOC) Network model in 1990, leading to its development as an independent 501 C3 in 1996. In 2002, Ms. Carin launched BOC Capital Corp., a CDFI and SBA Microlender, providing micro and small business loans to low income and underrepresented communities throughout New York City. Ms. Carin has worked extensively with immigrant and minority groups, women-owned businesses and industrial businesses. Previously, she provided leadership strategies in program development, workforce training, housing development and community needs assessment, also in the non-profit sector. Ms. Carin is a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional, licensed Real Estate Broker, and graduated from Barnard College.
