About the Social Media Lab

The Social Media Lab is an open area of the show floor which can seat about 50 attendees.  It will educate business owners on the various social media tools available, as well as provide short demos and direct consultations regarding what social platforms are most appropriate for your business.  There will be a Twitter, a Facebook and a LinkedIn session in the morning and each will run again in the afternoon. Each will last about 45 minutes and will include a Q&A portion.

Stop by this on-going show floor feature throughout the day to sharpen your knowledge of how social media can help bring you new business.  Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is included with your New York Expo pass.

Beth Granger is a social sales trainer and social media, communications, and branding consultant who uses her unique blend of creative, technical, and business communications expertise to help business owners, VPs of sales, CMOs, recruiters, and individuals address their business goals and challenges.

Often a business owner will ask for her help because they are worried by the lack of a trusted advisor, or frustrated by the inability to hire additional staff with specific communications expertise. She has been told that she helps remove the fear some people have of social media, web strategy, and marketing by helping navigate the online or social landscape. When clients are asked why they work with Beth the answer is frequently that she asks the right questions and she listens. One client said, “I didn’t know the difference between a hashtag and a handle until I spoke to Beth.”

Beth teaches social media and social sales. Her presentation titled Linkedin sales success in ten minutes a day has been well received at national sales meetings, trade events, and as a series of one-on-one seminars. Business owners and sales managers bring Beth in to train salespeople to incorporate the power of social selling using Linkedin, Twitter, and other platforms, into their sales and prospecting activities. She has also trained recruiters to do social recruiting and guest lectures on multiple topics at the Hofstra University Continuing Education program.

Beth is the Vice President of the board of directors of the Social Media Association and a member of the board of directors of Landmark on Main Street, a not-for-profit theater/community center.

Tommy Spero (@tommyspero) is an Innovative Creative Leader with broad experience in the ideation, planning, design, direction and management of interactive, mobile, branding and marketing initiatives.
He’s worked with some of the world’s largest brands, including Anheuser Busch In-Bev, American Greetings, Sony Music, VH1, HBO, and Showtime.

He recently appeared on Science Channel’s All American Makers giving unscripted marketing & branding insights for products presented for potential investment. His design work has been featured in the Logo Lounge series of books by Rockport Press, as well as seen on television & across the web.
